Charlie's Angels replaced by Kelly's Angels

A tip of the hat goes out this morning to TdV for her editorial yesterday. Finally a bit of backbone showing through our local media.

I was at my uptown office last week when Tamara came in for a caffeine hit. I overheard her talking with one of the other patrons about the FOI request and it made me laugh.
Colleen Mitchell, Diane Leeder, Diane Conwath, Katie Gilchrist et moi circa 1980

First, she confirmed that the Forester had also made a request for information but the Town advised them to pull the request as they already had one in the works so why waste their money. Funny, the people who paid for the information were hoping to recover some of their costs by charging for the detailed information. Obviously the Town was trying to keep the Forester happy while putting the boots to a nosy taxpayer.

Tamara also confirmed that their reporter ‘may have received a phone call’ suggesting that they should attend the early morning meeting where the information would be disclosed as part of the clear as mud, one-way, PowerPoint presentation.

The third and most laughable point gleaned last week was the question from the Forester as to whether Mayor Mackenzie was behind the FOI request. Obviously this was the spin that Tamara was getting fed from Town Hall. I can confirm that Hugh did not contribute one dime to the FOI request. However, it looks like Hugh is not afraid to add fuel to that fire by writing a letter to the editor on this issue.
Out with the old, in with the new!

Hugh even raises some additional questions related to age discrimination. I have difficulty seeing how Diane Leeder, Dianne Conwath and Katie Gilchrist can be replaced by Kelly’s Angels.
