Here’s something to consider.
First, I see Chris Lund is one of the senior execs at Skyline. He knows the Deerhurst property very well as he was the manager there at one time. Second, Skyline has retained a lobbyist to help with ‘Infrastructure, Tourism’ and they admit that they will be lobbying MPP’s, Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport Ontario Infrastructure an Lands Corporation (Infrastructure Ontario).

Am I the only one who sees the existing main facility being converted into a casino. The old tennis court area and all the ball rooms could make a nice ‘small casino’ however that may be eventually defined by Dalton and the Gang. The small resort casino is not a new concept. Anyone who has ever visited the Caribbean.
This reminds me of the last attempt to get a casino at Deerhurst. The developers insisted that the casino would be small. I suggested that I would support a ‘small’ casino if they surveyed a one foot strip right of way around the building and sold it to the Town. That would be the only way to ensure that the building would not grow.... they of course refused my suggestion.
Look closely at the plans and the built-in expandability, if any. Don’t be afraid to ask for a Town owned buffer zone to hold’em.
