A good place to start our polling ahead of the 2014 elections is a simple question. Should Councillor Fran retire? This decision could have a major impact on the race for District Council and could open the door for some new blood around the blood spattered Council table.

Rumour has it that Fran stays on council to keep a more comfortable lifestyle but I don’t believe it. Fran has always had a hard core of supporters who enthusiastically plunk their votes for Fran. This group includes both seniors and single moms that she has helped deal with social services in Bracebridge.

A staunch supporter of the blue party some hard line Tories shake their heads at Fran. She is one of the reddest Tories you will ever find and would even have Mitt shaking his head about her actions. She has worked tirelessly on affordable housing, social services and the Pink Elephant but could have/should have worked harder on creating/holding better quality jobs. Just look at all the jobs lost at Algonquin, Tembec and possibly KC to see where time could have been better spent.
