Quite A Day

Quite A Day

I’m sure that the Mayor had nothing to do with the technical difficulties broadcasting the council meeting yesterday.
Deerhurst Planning Rep gives the Mayor a wink!

I see Councillor Z continues to say he is holding the line within a couple of hundred thousand. Unfortunately he is an engineer and not an accountant and when the budget model you are using is wrong you are stuck with GIGO.... garbage in, garbage out. The truth will unfold next June and I’ll be able to say "I told you so", then. Just remember we had a $4M+ deficit last year and we have done nothing to mitigate it. This year the restructuring initiative (what was the  initiative?) will cost another $1M and is being funded by hitting the reserves.

As for another comment about building heights and bylaws I would like to remind you that when you are talking waterfront, the front of the house where measurements are done is in fact the back of the house...i.e the road side. Depending on how you site the building and how it is landscaped (wink, wink) you could have more height on the lake side of the building as it cascades down the hill.

What else happened during the blackout?
