Have you noticed tourists standing on street corners in the downtown for extended periods of time waiting to cross the street? I sure have. I’ve driven around the post office block and seen the same people standing on the corner. I’ve seen people stand through three light cycles at the Brunel lights
Not only are we Canadians and too darned polite to cross the street when the traffic light is green but the pedestrian red hand says no walking but we also can’t read the little sign that suggests we push the button to cross the street.
I’m sure we must be the only Town in Ontario with such a stupid system. When the light is green you can walk and you can walk on an advance green as long as you don’t go more than half way. Can we please get one of the district councillors to ask the light contractor to fix the programming on the crossing lights to get us back in line with the rest of the world. When the traffic light is green the pedestrian light should be green, simple as that.
