Whatever Happened to the G8 Countdown Clock?

Moscow countdown clock, one year and counting

I was listening to the CBC this morning and the were talking about the one year countdown festivities related to the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Time to dust off our G8 clock?

That got me thinking, as I am prone to do. Whatever happened to our G8 Countdown Clock? Did we buy it with Tony’s money or did we just rent it for a year or so. If we own this clock, we should be making money from it by renting it out to various local event organizers. We could be counting down the seconds to the 55+ Winter Games, then move to a countdown to the June Triathlon, the July Festival of the Arts and then have a countdown to the September Film North events.

Once the fall comes we can start the one year countdown for the Town Council. How much more damage can be inflicted in the final year? Instead of placing it on Main Street we should put it around back so that some councillors can see how long they have before the electorate passes sentence on their performance over the past four years. Unlike the last vote we won’t see the clock’s system crash for a period of time leading to the establishment of the CSAVE group who have done a great job over the past four years pointing out electronic voting problems around the world.

Who will get voted off the island?
